Digi C/X System is a high-performance, cost-effective way to add from 16to 1,024 serial ports to microprocessor-based multi-user systems. The C/XSystem consists of an intelligent ISA, Micro Channel, EISA, RS/6 orSBus host adapter card, plus an intelligent C/CON-16 concentrator thatprovides 16 high-speed RS-232 serial ports. The host adapter card andconcentrator are linked by a synchronous line or optional fiber opticcabling. The C/X System can grow in 16-port increments by simply addingmore concentrators. One C/X System can support up to 128 ports through asingle slot and up to eight C/X Systems can be installed in a singleserver to support as many as 1,024 serial ports.
